Madathukulam assembly constituency is located in the Tiruppur district of Tamil Nadu, covering the area of Madathukulam block. As of 2025, the constituency has a total of 240,095 registered voters, comprising 116,739 male voters and 123,338 female voters. With 287 polling booths, the constituency is classified as a General seat, with no SC/ST reservation. Notably, Madathukulam is a newly formed constituency, created after the 2008 delimitations.

The constituency has witnessed a seesaw battle between the DMK and AIADMK parties in recent years. In the 2021 assembly elections, C. Mahendran of the AIADMK won the seat with 84,313 votes, securing a margin of 6,438 votes. This victory marked a comeback for the AIADMK, which had lost the seat to the DMK's Jayaramakrishnan R in 2016. The DMK had won the seat with 76,619 votes, a margin of 1,667 votes.
